I have had two great experiences with John Matson's company during my tenure at VCC Construction. His company first went to work for us at Gauthier Elementary. This project had many challenges for all the subs that worked there. However, while many of them could not deal with the complex issues without a great deal of hand holding, John treated them as opportunities to show his company's professionalism. His work ethic is second to none and his skill as a master carpenter and project manager leaves nothing to be desired. My second encounter with John involved the St Tammany Coroner's facility. This project needed many of his talents for John and us to make it succeed. John not only did all the takeoffs for us, but also managed the process from the mill to final installation.Everything about John and his staff makes me want to work with him in the future. We had clients that were happy with the product, which makes it a whole lot easier for us to sell the projects. In conclusion, I would whole-heartedly recommend John Matson Construction for any commercial project. He has a great demeanor, does a truly professional job on any item he touches, and most importantly makes my job that much easier.

I've called on Matson Construction many times for a variety of tasks including adding light fixtures, changing toilets and maintenance on my classic New Orleans style doors, windows and shutters. I was thrilled to see that all of my projects were completed with ease and in a timely fashion, saving me the cost of hiring a plumber, electrician, and carpenter separately. John is always there to make sure all work is done right, and no detail is overlooked. I've recommended Matson Construction to numerous friends and they've all been pleased with their completed projects and their experience as a whole.

John Matson has been handling all of my home repairs for the past 18 months. He has a strong work ethic, and delivers completed jobs right on the time he has promised. He has the knowledge, skills, and tools for projects large and small--and a cheerful attitude as lagniappe. I have dealt with many contractors over many years, and he is tops.

I have used John Matson, of Matson Construction, on several projects dealing with repairs and improvements on my home uptown on Joseph St. in Hurstville.  He has done gutter work, carpentry, and demanding exterior painting. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the finished work that he achieves on every task he does.  He is a diligent worker with an amazing range of knowledge about home repairs.  Most importantly he can be trusted to do the job right.

We wholeheartedly recommend John Matson and his craftsmanship. This young man is not only an extremely hard working professional, but a gentleman who lives up to the words "stand up kind of guy." We are in the process of building a new home, and John has worked on various projects: interior trim, a custom mantle, a curved staircase and a kitchen countertop made out of bargewood after designing a template from a picture he was shown. There are contractors who promise things they can't deliver, promise things they can deliver- but don't- for whatever reason, promise things they may eventually deliver- when they are good and ready... you get the point! John has been both responsive and honest. When he commits to do something, he does it. If there is an idea or an application that he doesn't think will work or is not comfortable with, he will tell you. He returns calls, keeps appointments and communicates effectively. His work is beautiful and he strives for perfection. We wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone. Sincerely,

- Laura and Frank Russo
